On Building a Chemical Works
Most students of out, school, includingme, think it is wrong to build a chemical works near our school. Although the works will make a lot of money for our city, we do think it will do us more harm than good. First, the drinking water will be badly polluted. Of course, they have promised to do something to prevent the water from being polluted, but it is far from enough. Second, the air over the city will be polluted, too. We will never be able to breathe fresh air. How can we live here any longer? What's more, the site of the chemical works has been the only place where we students play games and have sports after school. Where would we go if it were occupied? For the above reasons, we do hope the project will be cancelled.
关于兴建化工厂
我们学校的大多数同学,包括我在内,认为在我们学校附近兴建化工广是不对的.尽管该厂可为本市赚不少钱,但危害大于好处.首先,严重污染饮用水.他们当然答应将来取措施防止水的污染,但这是远远木够的.其次,也造成本市的空气污染.我们将不能再呼吸到新鲜空气,怎能在此生活呢?而且,所选的厂址是我们学生放学后做游戏和运动的唯一场所,如果被占用了,我们到哪里去呢?由于上述原因,我们真的希望取消这项工程.
